Dear guests, fans and friends of the StäV,We are pleased to welcome you to the homepage of the “Ständige Vertretung”. Geschichte, Idee, Konzept und Name der „Ständigen Vertretung“ (abgekürzt: „StäV“) hängen eng zusammen mit der jüngeren deutschen Geschichte. Zwischen der Bundesrepublik und der DDR gab es keine „Botschaften“, sondern „Ständige Vertretungen“ in Bonn und Ost-Berlin. Als die Mauer fiel, entbrannte ein heftiger Streit zwischen alter und neuer Hauptstadt. Bonn unterlag knapp. Etwa 50.000 Rheinländer zogen 1998 nach Berlin. 40 Jahre Bonn waren Geschichte. Diese spannende Zeit wird in der „StäV“ dargestellt. Die Französische Nachrichtenagentur AFP titelte: „Die „StäV“ ist nicht irgendeine Kneipe, sondern ein politisches Lesebuch“... „Die Geschichte der vergangenen Jahrzehnte findet sich wieder...“

History, idea, concept and name of the « Ständige Vertretung » (short : StäV) are closely related to recent German history. The West-German Federal Republic and the East German Democratic Republic didn´t have regular embassies but ”steady representations” (German: Ständige Vertretung) in Bonn and East-Berlin. As the wall came down there was a bitter fight between the old and new capital. Bonn lost. Aproximately 50.000 people from the Rhineland moved to Berlin in 1998. 40 years of Bonn were history. This thrilling time is shown at the ”StäV”. The French newsagency AFP titeled: ”The ”StäV” ist not an ordinary pub, but a political storybook”. The memory of the past comes alive...
La historia, la idea, el concepto y el nombre de la ”Ständige Vertretung” (abreviado ”StäV”, en español ”Representacón Permanente”) guadan una estrecha relación con la historia alemana reciente. Entre la republica federal y la RDA no había ”Embajadas” sino ”Representa ciones permanentes” en Bonn y Berlín Este. Cuando cayó el muro, se desató una fuerte disputa entre la vieja y la nueva capital. Bonn perdió por poco. Unos 50.000 habitantes de Renania semudaron en 1998 a Berlín. En los 40 años de Bonn se hizo historia. Ese apasionante tiempo está representado en la « StäV ». La agencia de noticias francesa AFP tituló: ”La StäV no es un bar cualquiera, sino un libro de lectura política”…La historia de las últimas décadas se encuentran de nuevo aqui?…”
L'histoire, l'idée, la conception et le nom de la "Ständige Vertretung" (StäV de son petit nom) sont étroitement liés à l'histoire récente de l'Allemagne. Entre la République fédérale et la République démocratique d'Allemagne, il n'existait pas d'ambassades, mais des "Représentations permanentes" ou "Ständige Vertretung", à Bonn et à Berlin-Est. Lorsque le Mur est tombé, une vive querelle s'est élevée entre ancienne et nouvelle capitales. Bonn fut vaincue de justesse. Environ 50 000 Rhénans ont alors déménagé en 1998 à Berlin. Une page de 40 ans, qui s'était écrite à Bonn, était tournée. C'est cette page, palpitante, qui est reproduite sur les murs de la StäV. L'Agence France Presse a pu titrer "La StäV n'est pas une brasserie comme les autres, mais un livre d'histoire.... Elle retrace l'histoire des décennies passées".
Noi dello Staendige Vertretung abbiamo il merito di aver reso la kölsch molto popolare al di fuori dei confini di colonia. La storia, l´idea , il concetto e il nome dello” Staendige Vertretung ”(StäV), sono correlate alla piú giovane storia tedesca degli ultimi 50 anni. Durante la divisione della germania in est e ovest non vi erano le rispettive ambasciate bensí delle ”rappresentanze permanenti”, Staendige Vertretung; caduto il muro e superato l´impasse nel decidere quale cittá meritasse il ruolo di capitale, la decisione cadde su berlino; a bonn rimase ro 40 anni di storia postbellica. E circa 50000 renani si trasferirono a berlino e per dare loro un senso di ”patria” oltre i ”confini” naque lo StäV. Essendo lo stäv una documentazione di tale storia abbiamo meritato un corsivo dell´agenzioa di stampa francese afp.” lo StäV non è una qualsiasi birreria dove si consumi solo birra, bensí un libro politico………………..” salute e …………prost
